A Little Life
I've led such a little life. And even that will be over pretty soon. I have allowed myself to lead this little life when inside me there was so much more. And it's all gone unused. And now it never will be. Why do we get all this life if we don't ever get to use it? Why do we get all these feelings and hopes and dreams if we don't ever use them.Shirley Valentine

A Tofu Treat
fried tofu, originally uploaded by umitomo.
I had my first taste of tofu yesterday. It's not very common to find tofu in my small part of the world so I was really surprised to find it stashed away at the back of one of my mum's kitchen cupboards!
Now, I've never cooked tofu before so it was ... not very good. But I loved it and shall definately be buying more!
Heat oil in a wok or frying pan over medium heat. Stir in a little garlic and ginger, and cook for 1 minute. Add tofu to the pan with soy sauce, and stir to coat. Cover, and continue cooking for 20 to 30 minutes.
Squeeze lime juice over tofu before serving.

Raspberries
Raspberries, originally uploaded by Nemneivah.
It's been so long since Millie and I have been able to get outside this summer. The sun has been in hiding for the last month and a half! We grabbed a couple of tubs from the kitchen and tumbled outside into the garden.
Millie has become really good on her feet and has started tackling steps on her own - we try to hold her hand but she's not having it. She loves to be outside and she isn't happy unless I take her out every single day now.
Anyway, we have a mass of raspberry bushes in our back garden and they gave a great crop last year. I've got some photos of Millie crawling around in a pink stained dress from last summer and I wanted to get some more this year.
Sadly, not so many raspberries. The bunch in her tub were the only ones I could find! Millie was happy to gobble them up, though. The ones she didn't eat outside I mashed up with a little cream and sugar - yum yum!
There are a couple more pictures on my flickr (first photo posts, yeah!).
